Chromium Chelate NSP
Chromium chelate NSP contains chromium in a chelated form (chromium compound with amino acids), which contributes to its better assimilation in the body. It contains calcium and a mixture of herbs such as horsetail, red clover, and yarrow.
Chromium is an essential trace element with a daily requirement of 50 mcg. However, it has a low rate of absorption (about 10%) and a fairly high rate of elimination from the body (83 days). When chromium is a component of the ‘glucose tolerance factor’, chromium’s most important biological role is in the regulation of carbohydrate metabolism and blood sugar levels. Acting with insulin, it regulates the storage and use of glucose by cells. It increases the sensitivity of cellular receptors to insulin and reduces the need for insulin. Chromium is primarily necessary for diabetics since a deficiency of this element can increase the risk of conditions such as diabetes. Chromium levels drop in women during pregnancy and after childbirth, which can lead to diabetes during pregnancy. The sugar and carbohydrate foods we consume reduce the level of chromium in the body. After 40 years of age, a quarter of people with normal insulin production will have insulin problems. Decreased chromium content in soil has led to chromium deficiency in almost all people in the world.
Chromium can enhance the action of insulin in all metabolic processes regulated by this hormone. It increases the body’s ability to store glycogen and contributes to an increase in muscle mass by stimulating protein biosynthesis. Chromium deficiency in the body, increases = glucose levels, triglycerides and cholesterol in the blood and causes atherosclerosis.
The biological action of chromium is diverse. It not only regulates the level of glucose in the blood, but also has, wound-healing effects (in peptic ulcer disease). It supports the metabolism of heart and nervous tissue, sexual function, and the function of the thyroid gland. Chromium plays a role in DNA and RNA synthesis lecithin, cholesterol, fatty acids, and detoxification of metabolites in the liver.
Horsetail (Equisetum arvense) is a source of silicon. It stimulates the regeneration of connective tissue and the activity of the endocrine glands and has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects.
Red clover (Trifolium pratense) is an immunostimulant against bacterial and viral infections and it heals wounds and ulcers. Alfalfa has a high phytoestrogen content. It is especially good for acne in young men. It clears skin redness and is used in seborrhoea and psoriasis. It has antispasmodic, antiseptic, antitumor effects. It lowers cholesterol and prevents the development of atherosclerosis.
Yarrow (Achillea millefolium)has a bactericidal, wound-healing, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, and anti-allergic effect.
Chromium Chelate NSP prevents serious metabolic diseases such as type II diabetes and atherosclerosis.
